i took out my orange turn signal piece, and want to put a silverstar bulb in there (looks blueish and blinks orange so its still legal. I spoke with someone from sylvania, and the 7440 bulb is only meant for an application with a reflector over it. I was wondering if anyone knows of an available silverstar size that would fit into the wedges place without problem?

so how did it come out? was it hard to take off the orange piece? how does the bulb look now? ....anymore questions you can anticipate me asking please just answer, haha

you mean silvervision?

another thing to try that would be cheaper would be to paint the top of the bulb with a silver spray paint. you won't see the orange and you're light will still blink amber.

 

the bulb line is actually called silverstar...it has a blueish tint to it when its not lit, and turns amber when it blinks. what kind of spray paint would i use thougH?

I've seen some links for these on some BMW forums.
They seem to be popular with the Bimmer crowd, not sure what bulb they use.
Can't find the link right now..... if I find it I'll post it.

There are quite a few comapnys that make chrome bulbs that flash or blow orange/amber when they are one!

OMG im so interested in this.... i have been wanting to get rid of that ugly *** orange reflector since i got my car....

2004 Black on Black g coupe 6spd.... &lt;3 aluminum pedals, clear corners, z tube, and pop charger. From down south, houston tejas

 

any silver spray paint will work just fine. it's cheap and effective.

 

if i put high temp blue spray paint on an amber bulb, do youthink it wouldstill blink amber?

i went out to pepboys today looking for an amber 7440 bulb, and it looks like clear is all they make....

any ideas of a similar bulb size that they make in amber...
i know I could get them online, but I want to put them on ASAP to avoid any cop troubles.....

Sorry to resurrect and old thread, but I'm looking for sylvania silverstar bulbs for my 7440 front signals, but I can't seem to find them. Anyone know where to pick them up?

I'd also love to find a set like this for the side markers (ie. 194).

Here's an example of them, although the wrong bulb type:

I also tried silvervision also with no luck. In fact their webpage doesn't even allow one to select INFINTI when looking up the bulb types (had to go through 350z)
