a really easy way is to pull the bulb out and break the inner tabs off for the little filliment. Just bend the connections back and forth till they break off. Then pop the bulb back in.

Test the bulb out first. I just did this because I'm using LED's for the running light and the stock bulb for the blinker. I just forgot which filliment is always running.

So it's just an amber bulb, not a reflector? Do you get an error message by cutting the power to the 2nd filament?

euroG - the clear blinker might take you a while and it was actually difficult for me. I've never worked with plastic or shaping material before. The way I did it was shave out the orange filter with a dremel and then carefully shape a new piece to go in it's place.

Irony - that fog light you see is just an extra white led I reflected off the inside of the housing. I was going to do "angel eyes" but gave up.

Re: Orange blinker MODIFICATION, help!

thanks wicked. the whole headlight is wired with built in white LED's.

Linrose Supre bright LED part number BCMD333uwc-1 20ma
and Radio Shack 5mm 3.6volt 20ma 1100mcd

with 220ohm 1/2watt 5%tolerance resistors per 2 LED's
(whoever told me that splicing more LED's into the rear tail would not dim them, was wrong. LED's are very sensitive to change in electricity)

The side marker is still running off of a PIAA wedge bulb but I'm going to split it open soon and wire it with a white LED's as well.

I removed the Orange filter and fitted frosted plastic in it's place. It gave it a hologram effect kind of like a projector light. Everything was spur of the moment so I didn't take any pictures or jot down instructions.

Sorry for not posting a DIY, but I'll get around to it. I had to barrow a camera to get these pix in my profile.

I'm not trying to hold out tips from anyone so if you got questions just ask.

Re: Orange blinker MODIFICATION, help!

SKYE has a how to on the DIY section

I used a dremel, some metal cone shape to grind the majority of the orange out (starting from middle working out toward the rim). I left about 1mm of orange then used a sanding cone to get it as close as possible to the edge. (use dust mask, goggles and ear plugs) It gets very noisy and dusty. If you ever got a sand sized piece of plastic in your eye, it ain't cool at all.
