Thumbs down Licensed/Certified Window Tinter?

Is there a such this to become a licensed tinter or have to be certified? Reason I ask this is because I think this shop is giving me the run around because i have a complaint about their job n service. Is there anyway to make them pay if they dont want to refund me? My last resort is staying outside their shop n advertise their bad tinting so they will lose business. Any input will be appreciated.

Been tinting for 13 years and there is no such thing. Certifications are something that training companies provide to make you feel like you got your moneys worth. Some suppliers will give a experienced that title too to make their product have more value to the customer. Its all BS. Same with clear bras. There is no true cerification or license. Now a business license would be another thing. That is a given though.

If the job is that bad then ask them to yank the film and go somewhere else. I would first try and let them fix it though. Everyone has bad days and there are many other factors with tinting as well. Nothing that should make a job be bad enough for someone to want their money back though.
People need to keep in mind that there are only a hand full of good tinters and clear bra installers within a 500-1000 mile radius in any given area. Sad but true. You can also thank those computer cut programs for that. Those just make lazy and poor techs.

Yeah, i've been trying to get an appointment in the the past month since it was done. He guranteed me no bubbles which there is, cut on top is not even straight, and theres lint in the bubble. It was in the morning (10am) so that could of been the bad thing since they might have been still tired. As for the certification i was just wondering since if they wanna tell me deal with it i have something to do to them in return.

Sounds more like dirt then bubbles. You can always talk to their film supplier. That can have a big effect on them getting things done pretty quick.

So i just talked to the installer today, was trying to give me an attitude and his son says im being "nit picky". I don't know if I want them touching the car again since he slammed my door today -.- just because he's mad for his service. He told me why dont i go complain to the manufacturer for a chipped windshield. Im like ok...Pisses me off that he slammed my door and thats all I thought about the whole day LOL. What hurts the car hurts me. So for anyone around the metro detroit area. Stay away from Custom Effects Tinting in Sterling Heights.
