Aerocatch Hood Pins

I'm planning on getting these hood pins soon and I've noticed many members running these pins on their CF hoods. However I have not seen anyone use the FLUSH pins yet instead of the FLUSH PLUS pins.

It seems to me that the under mount Flush pins look much better that the over the top mounted Flush Plus since they sit flush with the hood instead of raised on a little lip.

First 2 pics are top mounted, the Last 3 are underneath. If you have any of these please comment.

Do you need to cut the hood for these pins?

If you aren't doing it on a CF hood, I suggest using countersunk screws filled in and painted over for the extra flush look.

^^^Good point, after doing a little more research it became apparent that the underside mount would probably not be such a good idea for a Carbon Fiber hood after all. It seems the screws could crack and rip through the CF on top and lead to eventual failure.

I would also suggest using this so the same thing does not happen to the underside of the hood.

I guess I'll be getting the top mount pin locks.

The top mount pins look better IMO. Gives the car a little more of an aggressive look.

I had to top mount on my G35. Looked great and I loved them. They come with a template. I just used an xacto knife to etch the template into the hood and my dremmel to cut it out. Go slow and take your time. It was pretty simple.
