Is removing the plastic underbody a bad idea?

I am having some issues with the plastic underbody both under the engine bay and in the wheel wells.

the one in the engine bay has become detatched from my nismo front a few times and drags on the floor, very loud an obnoxious.

and now that I put spacers on my car my front wheels are rubbing against the plastic lining in the wheel well... if your looking at my driver side wheel its rubbing at around 10 o-clock

is it a bad idea to remove all of this plastic?

thanks

I did it on my 2 ancient Volvos.... big mistake. The underbody cover protected my belts and moving parts from road salt, dirty water, sand/dirt, and rocks. W/o the cover, my belts tended to deteriorate sooner by cracking and fraying. The wheel well covers do the same. Finally, these are part of the aero-dynamics of the G, especially the underbody cover.

I'd fix it before it rips off while your cruising at high speeds and it rolls under the car and does additional damage on its' way.

Seems that the more you engineer the car, the less reliable and efficient it becomes.
