Where to move this wire to?

Fellow G35 lovers, I need some help with some wiring.

What I have is a interior lighting set from Japan. It's not complicated, but I had wired the lighting kit to the courtesy dome lights and didn't realize that the POWER would be CUT OFF after the doors closed.

What I need is to MOVE the wires to another power source that will allow the lighting kit to REMAIN ON while driving. (Pictures attached - hopefully detailed enough to show what I have setup already).

I'm dumb when it comes to wiring, and need to know which wire is my GROUND (I believe it's the BLACK WIRE correct?) to keep wired, as a ground is a ground and I don't need to monkey with that, since it's already nicely spliced in.

I need to move the POWER wire (Red wire, correct?) to another wire in the wire bundle by the drivers left foot area.

Does anyone know which wire I can move my power wire to, so that the power supply remains on while driving??

*I don't have much "play" in the length of the power wire, so I can't make it up to the VDC button to splice it in there - so I'm hoping one of you experts know which wire in this crazy wire "bundle" that I can tap into.

Thanks so much in advance guys!

stay on while driving? and continue to stay on?.... I would put it to a switch between a constant power source, so you could flip the switch on or off... driving or not...

It does have a on/off switch. But the power source I have it currently tapped into is for the dome lights and after I shut the door no matter if the switch for the lighting kit is still in the "ON" position, the lights dim and then die out - just like the dome light does.

So,...I need help on how to wire it to a power source that remains ON while driving so the lights stay on...

Any suggestions guys?

Thanks!

Wyatt,

Why not tap the red wire (your power) from the lights into the red wire behind the cigarette lighter? Power cuts off when the ignition is off, so that would work for you. I wired my TV and Nav2go that way and it works fine. And it sure is clean......you could connect the ground to any screw that connects dorectly to the chassis (anything metal that the screw goes directly into). Hope this helps.

Awesome Tom, Great info!!

One last question - I've already have my black wire (ground) hooked into a ground, could I not just leave it there, instead of moving it as well??

Let me know what you think, and thanks a TON!!
