I got my TS hood about a month ago. I also bought aerocatch hood pins to go with.

I ended up not installing the pins since the hood was used by two other people before I bought it, and the guy who I bought it from before me was FI. So I figured if there was no problems before (specially with the FI driver), HOPEFULLY I will be fine.

However if the pins weren't so bulky and didnt' require drilling the hood, I would do it for peace of mind. So I'm guessing im going looks over function (kinda sounds like buying a G35 huh lol)

Well...technically you are not saving any weight because you are replacing the hood latch for heavier hood pins. I know, I know I'm a Debee Downer.

I have the Aero hood pins also and I'm installing them next month, having a hood fly up and smack me on the forehead sounds like no fun.
