D2S bulbs?

Re: D2S bulbs?
The correct HID bulbs are D2r for reflector headlights, I know D2S will work but there is no cut off line and will blind oncoming traffic and look weird, thats what other people have said. What kind of bulbs are they? And how much can you get them for? Let me know i might want a pair. Martin

Re: D2S bulbs?
Thanks for the input iLLG35.
I had no idea there's a cut off line to control the light beam, but good to know!
I paid $200 CAN for em. They are made in Korea and from what I've heard, more relaible than generic Taiwan bulbs.
I'm getting the bulbs installed tomorrow along with my Silver J5 Pros(finally). Hope I can take some night shots of the brightness and all.

Re: D2S bulbs?
i just got 7500k D2S bulbs installed on my g35 sedan...wayy brighter...more purple....and the cutoff isnt bad at all because the stock g35 headlights are aimed very well from the factory....they look amazing....love em....and yes they do fit...

Re: D2S bulbs?
Hmm, i might get them then. Im looking for a BMW 5 or 7 series type blue color, not a ricey aqua. I know without projector headlights i will never have it like that but a pretty solid color beam of blue and white would be cool, any pics of your bulbs?

Re: D2S bulbs?
Well since i have lowered my car my beams are almost in the ground now :/ I think this would be good for me then... My output is not as good, its a lot shorter and i never thought that would happen.

Re: D2S bulbs?
yes of course theyll fit, the d2r and d2s have the same base. the only difference is that the D2R has a shield underneither the salt capsule inside the bulb so that there isnt as much glare as a D2S. D2S is made for projector HID applications.
also, despite what you and most people think, the higher the kelvin rating (8000k etc) the lower the actual light output. it just looks more purple the higher the K rating. 4100K is what all OEM bulbs are, and thats what produces the most actual light output.
