well i went ahead and did it.
here is the result
before with all the badges on

debadged with no cleaning done yet

this is after swirl remover and a VERY quick wax

and this is the best i could get the g35 logo after the same swirl remover and VERY quick wax

this is the black plastic trim (it has been washed but its still faded looking and has lines going through it. it was much worse looking in person)

this is the same peice but now it has been cleaned with plastic polish. its much shinier looking in person also.

AND YES I DO KNOW THAT I DID NOT DO THAT GREAT OF A JOB OF WAXING AND MAKING EVERYTHING LOOK SHINY. THIS WAS DONE VERY QUICKLY AND I WILL BE DOING IT AGAIN WHEN I HAVE TIME TO DO IT CORRECTLY

i didnt use any fishing line or anything to take the letters/numbers off. i just pulled them off with my fingers. came off pretty easy. then i used a blow dryer to heat the glue and then i rolled it off with my finger tip. then used wax and tar remover, then swirl remover then wax

It would probably be easier if it was hotter so the badges would heat up faster and the badge would come off. I used fishing line and a heat gun. Goo gone after to remove the sticky stuff. Then a meguiars scratch remover to help get rid of the discoloration a little. A nice wax and off I go
Thanks for the post
I plan on debadging my car today and was wondering what I would need to get it done.
Based on the posts, it looks like I'll need a razor blade since I dont have fingernails and some goo gone to remove the remaining sticky residue.
I dont have a heat gun so any other suggestive alternatives would be helpful.
