Does anyone know if the winshield comes from the factory with any % of tint below the strip at the top? In other words, is an untouched windshield allowing 100% visible light transmission?

Well going on the basis that it is illegal to have any type of tint on the windshield i'm guessing that it does come "untouched" from the factory (excluding the strip of course). Just my 2c

 

I've never tested a front windshield but the door windows usually test at around a 75% from the factory so I'd guess that the front windshield would be around the same. I don't think you'll find a piece of glass with UV protection that is 100% clear. A friend of mine has the "transitions" glasses and UV light is what activates them and the windshield in the car prevents them from tinting.
