Over the weekend I hit a cone that was in the middle of the road thinking that it wouldn't do that much damage. Little did I know that since it was a highway cone there were weights on the bottom of it that supposedly should have kept it from ending up in the middle of the road in the first place. Well as the saying goes what is done is done and now I just need to fix the damage. As far as what the damage is I have a cracked bumper, a broken foam support, a missing corner bumper light, and the plastic piece which covers the wheel well has been ripped off. As a person who spends allot of time doing research on my car on this site I know there are allot of knowledgeable people on this site who will hopefully be able to help me out. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Here are a few questions I hope you can help with
-As far as doing the repair as cost effective as possible would it be cheaper to do the work myself i.e. install and order parts and then outsource the painting or to just get a body shop to do everything considering they probably get a discount on parts.
-Would it be cheaper to get a new stock bumper (do these come pree painted) or to get an aftermarket one
-Does anyone know what the official name for the wheel cover is so I can order the correct part?
-Another possibility that I was considering was maybe buying someone’s bumper and if it wasn’t my color (black) getting it repainted

I realize that not being the most car savvy person in the world I may have over simplified some of these steps so if I did please feel free to inform me of extra steps that I may have left out

Also if anybody has an estimate of how much this is going to cost to fix using any of these scenarios it would be greatly appreciated

 

Unfortunately my car is a coupe; I have received 5 emails from people stating they have spare bumpers for sedans. It almost seems like people are doing more body mods to sedans then coupes. To bad for me I guess. I was actually able to order a couple of the parts I needed to replace online. Although I’m still hoping that some one will decide to mod there car so we can both benefit from the sale of there stock bumper. If all else fails I will just wait till I go FI early next spring to get an aftermarket one that will allow for freer air flow to the intercooler such as the Greddy.
