Carbon Fiber hood questions
I had an unfortunate keyjob happen to my hood and drivers side last week. I am thinking of dropping the money on a carbon fiber hood but I need questions. First and foremost, how is the fit? Im sure it depends on the manufacturer so who is the best? Second, I live in Minnesota and the car will need to be driven in cold weather. Does carbon fiber hold up well in cold climates? Is there any good vendors on our forum you would reccomend?
I really like the ported look, but with snow and rain, is it best to just get an OEM style? Also are hood pins necessary?

The cold, snow, and salt is not the best for the hoods. This is why a lot of people save their oem hoods if the car is driven in the winter. Also, fit depends on the brand. You get what you pay for. I just ordered a oem seibon hood, and it comes with a fit guarantee from the place i bought it from. You can find vented hoods with a piect that goes on the underside to seal it up. This allows you to run it true and opened, or sealed up to keep the engine clean.
