If youre gonna do it, do it with the correct paint....

You don't gotta tell me about correct paint.

It all comes down to whether the owner/customer wants gloss finish or flat finish. If they want flat, would you rather spend $35 per emblem, then paint it and put it back on to get the same finish as it would cost you using plastidip for $5?

You can do a gloss finish if you want, using automotive clear like I do... you can't beat this DIY for around $5 and you can return back to chrome whenever you want.

I did this to my emblems prior to the accident. 2 stage gunmetal with lime green.

This was done for customers...

Only way you'll get those results is if you remove the emblem, buy new ones, paint them professionally and install them back on. That's $60 per emblem.

I wonder if you can spray this stuff to black out our chrome trim around the windows. Any thoughts?

Hmm, I tried this out the rear emblem, but its a pretty rough finish, almost gritty? how did you get the finish so smooth, or does it just look like that in the pics?

Apply enough but not too much that it starts running. The finish is not smooth by any stretch, but it should not be gritty the way i understand your description.

im guessing it wouldn't be a good idea for taillights because i wanted to black that brake light on my wing but im guessing the light emitted wouldnt be nearly as good as that of something painted or having a bluebat vinyl

Well i applied probably 10 coats, looks pretty good but the finish feels some what like sandpaper covered with a thin coat of rubber....
