Bumpers: Greddy vs. Stillen
Can anyone post some good pics of either bumper and say what the clearance is (and how much you have dropped the car). I haven't been able to find some good comparison pics and views. Also is this correct, the Greddy is fiberglass while the Stillen is urethane?
Re: Bumpers: Greddy vs. Stillen
my sig has a pic of my bumper. Its very low and its drags on everything. My bumper needs to get fixed up from the beating it takes day to day. The Stillen doesnt look good IMO but the Quality and fit will be top notch, plus it will almost never break.
I would still rather have the Greddy or Top Secret Bumper over the Stillen any day

sweet man
The Greddy Looks awesome, but it gets really beat up with these NYC roads. Ive got 2 small cracks on it. My side skirts and Rear finally came so the shop is going to take care of all of it.
If you lower your car , its gunna slam into the ground alot. Your best bet is to get a stiffer suspension setup so the car doesnt bounce as much. I got rid of my Tein S-Tech springs and slapping on Tein Type Basic Coilovers.
Most of the damage to my bumper was the first few days while I was still riding on the Tein S-Tech Springs.

The Greddy looks great, especially for the price. I think that is probably what I will go with, the fiberglass kind of concerns me though. I just haven't seen a good stillen pic yet though.

Also could someone tell me if the Greddy FMIC fits on the stock bumper, or do you need to get a new one. I know about the whole lack of air flow issue but was just wondering if I could even get away with the stock bumper for a while.

Fiberglass breaks and cracks easily as compared to Urethane ...which is a more flexible material.

Re: Bumpers: Greddy vs. Stillen
i suppose fiberglass is "worse" as some of you may term it, but many fail to realize that fiberglass usually looks better.
fiberglass holds paint better, and though it is more prone to cracking (depending on the way it was constructed), it is simple to repair. if you flex your urethane bumper the paint may chip off or crack. depending on the type of urethane and the way the kit was made, it may also sag during hot weather (manly an issue for mold injected urethane bumpers).
urethane also needs to be preped more and if it is not done right, expect your paitn to flake off. trust me its not a nice looking thing, ive seen it on friends cars after they got "hooked up" at a paintshop who painted their stuff for cheap. bottom line, if you get urethane just make sure you take it to a place who will do quality work.
there are pros and cons to both. i had a urethane one on my civic before i sold it but it sagged too much because of the way it was constructed. plus fiberlgass can easily be fixed if it doesnt fit correctly unlike urethane =)
