PlastiDip ftw! It's safe, easy, and cheap; and if you regret going black or mess up, it's easy to peel off. I used this stuff on my grille, and I'm really pleased with the outcome.

This stuff leaves a really nice, matte finish. I used it on my headlight bezels. It takes more prep work, and you have to be more careful because it's more permanent than PlastiDip.

Ohh... It's permanent alright. I painted the front grill and rear valance with it and it looks so clean!

I used black engine enamel and I swear they match almost exactly I cant tell a difference at all. Engine enamel is very thick and strong and super shiny so no chips yet.. I did 3-4 coats I can see indents where rocks have hit but no color has come through

OP, as you can see from all the comments, it doesn't really matter what kind of paint you use. Some can nozzles are designed better than others, so you'll just have to use a few to get a feel for what you like. Ultimately, if the grille gets jacked up from rock chips, or if you just don't like the color or how it came out you can just paint it again with something else. Cans are cheap.

I went matte black (Rust-Oleum Universal Spray Paint, I really like how these cans spray) on my headlights and grille. I got board a few weeks ago and I sprayed the grille a silver color just to see what it would look like. Now I'm thinking of either going back to black, or doing something nutty like copper on the grille, headlights, and wheels.

I haven't used Plasti-Dip yet, so I don't know how hard it is to remove but I do hear good things. I'll probably be Plasti-Dipping my wheels before I paint them, so I'll be able to remove the painted Plasti-Dip and go back to OEM if I want.

How well does the Plasti-dip hold up? And could I use it to paint my headlight housings as well?

i never understood why people use spray paint on a luxury car . You will always see the cheapness of it compared to sprayed professionally . Plastidip looks good but its the biggest pain to clean . Duplicolor is for civics
