I think its better than doing plastidip, at least vinyl applications are made for cars.... Not plastidip...

for winter setups, i dont think that's such a bad idea. wheels wont really get hot in the winter, and cheap protection that will come off easy if needed. i'd do the inside of the wheel also though.
Cool idea, I'm surprise more people haven't experimented with this.... Imagine a clear vinyl to protect the custom finishes during winter or maybe it can be a vinyl with a design for promotional uses.
