I think it's funny that people actually think plastidip will mess up paint I gues this thread was from before plastidip made its automotive debut lol. There are tons of threads about it now and it works and looks great

^^ Yeah, sure seems that way. I was so surprised the other day when I was driving home and saw a guy in my neighborhood pastidipping his 7 series BMW. I almost stopped to talk to him but was kind of in a hurry.

I probably will get flamed, but I've dipped my g. I did flat white, and months later decided I liked my red/gold pearl better. Now plasti dip as stepped up and come out with metalizers, pearlizers, gloss clear, and some people are pigmenting their clear to literally do whatever color they want. It's insane what can be done. I don't mind dipping a car. It looks good. But is it different than paint.... Yes of course it is. It's not as smooth as paint is and when the clear coat is buffed out painted cars look and feel awesome. For the true car enthusiast they would be able to spot it almost right off, for sure if they were close up that it was not paint. Guarantee if they touched it... But I like the idea to spend a few hours a hundred dollars or so and change the color of my car whenever I want. It's simple and easy. Now plasti Dip can damage your car. IF and only IF its been reprinted in the last year. Clear coat needs a lot of time to cure, and some people who have dipped their cars within a year it will pull clear coat off or do some funny things. Just know that. But for most people out here who are dipping their cars, there's no issues. Like everything take your time do it right or not at all. Some will say dipping is not right but I don't like dropping 5 k or more on a paint job. Plus I have ADHD so I will just change my mind soon anyways.

Ive dipped close to 100+ cars, the most expensive being a 2011 Gallardo. There is nothing wrong with dip, its cheaper then wrap, its more DIY friendly, plus if you want to spend $200 to "test a color out" before spending $1500 on a wrap, its perfect.

Here is my G in Matte black Diip.

Yea like I said I don't mind dip whatsoever. I just did my wife's wheels last night. Personally you did a clean job on your g, but matte black is one of my least favorite colors on the g. But good job on the car. Don't get me wrong.

Why would you lower one?
Change the exhaust?
Change the intake?
Dyno tune it?

With PlastiDip you can do things you would never do with paint and remove it when you want something different.

Maybe because the paint is shitty to start with plus its 10 years old and starting to fail and not everybody has 2-3k to drop on a paint job. I mean I only paid 5k for my "luxury" car
