Hey guys so today after having lots of headaches trying to do some matte blk vinyl work on my friends Genesis Coupe we discovered Plasti-Dip spray, for his emblems and what not, its perfect.

For my rims its perfect!

but I have a question and although I am willing to just experiment.

I have done my roof, trunk and hood matte blk vinyl and it looks great but.. its not as perfect as id like(you ca tell its vinyl), I have seen a rolls royce painted with this stuff, it looks crazy. My question is what WILL it stick to, like I get my normal body panels should be fine, I can peel it off if it doesnt look amazing, but my plastic bumpers, you think I will have issues? I know that emblems are essentially the same deal but my front fender is showing its 5 years of highway runs. That rash may be a problem to the removal of this stuff. If it happens to look like ****, but from what I have seen, I think it will be rather difficult to see any blemishing.

Any input will be much appreciated.

I will start a Plasti-Dip thread for my wheels, roof, hood and trunk as soon as I get going. If its bumper safe and looks good the whole car will finally get the murked out treatment!

Ohh and if this works, I am going to kick my own nuts so hard... $400 vinyl job could have bought a lot of plasti-dip cans.

Good luck... I can't hate on anyone that is willing to experiment for the sake of just knowing... I hope it turns out good and that other people open their minds to trying different tactics when it come to customizing your car...

So let me get this straight... your using plastic spray designed for coating tool handles to "paint" over automotive bc/cc on a car? Wow!

God I hate hacks who dont have money to do things the correct way!!!

Its like the next godamm aluminum wing craze

I say go for it but you better put your flame suit on theres a bunch of people who are going to bash you on here. They think that because something is cheap it cant be effective at doing the job you want.

You really think "painting" a car with plastidip is gonna be effective? Come on now! Theres a reason cars are painted with bc/cc... because its the most durable paint the industry has found for vehicles.

Posts like this are usually someone with who has 34 posts and just had their parents buy them a G35... so now they find any way possible to rice the sh;t out of it with their part time income.

Save up some money and do things THE RIGHT WAY!!!

Plastidip is for tool handles, not cars

plastidip is also for tools, as in people. I doubt the rolls royce you saw was painted with plastidip.

I hope you all get black lung from plastidip inhalation.
