Bam !!! Hood Dent =T

So i was driving merrily home from work one day and... BAM!!! A piece of concrete block the size of a softball landed on my hood as i drove under a overpass. I'm not sure if it fell from the overpass or if some punk kid threw it at my car, but nonetheless the piece splattered on contact, not only leaving a fat dent on my hood but the pieces of the block damaged on my wipers and the windshield. This just sucks @$$... Now regardless of how clean my windshield is, there are still 50 specs on it from the stupid concrete block. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do about my windshield? Or if someone replaced their brilliant silver hood with a cf one and would like to sell their stock one, please let me know. =T

punk kids.. sigh*

Wow, that really sucks. There are punk kids out there who have no respect for other people's cars. I should know, somebody threw an egg from an apartment building and landed on my roof.. now the egg pieces are stuck on the roof, and will rust eventually so it will need work.

Back on topic.. the little pieces on your windshield are probably little cracks, meaning your windshield will start cracking eventually. You can pick up a hood from someone hopefully, but your windshield will probably need replacing too.

I'm sorry this happened to you.. good luck in finding a hood and your windshield..

Good thing that thing didn't come through the windshield! Did you report it to the police?

In the last year, we've had 2 people killed like this. The kids in one case are doing LONG time 'cause the driver was a young pregnant blond.

Anyway, insurance should replace bothe the hood and windshield.

I called the police and let them know about it, but I never submitted a report. I WISH it was just a dent, but the concrete block explosion took away a lot of the paint. I'm still currently looking for a replacement hood as we speak. Can't afford a brand new hood right now because my funds are low from the holidays.

I would go through insurance, but I rather not have them raise my rates again. sigh..

What's the purpose of having insurance if you don't use it? I've used insurance for everything from accidents (my fault), accidents (not my fault), and vandalism and they never increased my rates.

At least your dent isn't as big as mine.
