Fog Lights final question

I have decided that I want to change my stock fog lights to the PIAA H4 bulbs.

IS THIS A SAFE H4 BULB TO USE???

A new addition to PIAA’s stable of high performance bulbs is the Super Plasma GT-X. The new GT-X provides an exclusive purple low beam and an Xtreme White high beam. And if that weren't enough! PIAA has added a purple colored top coat giving the headlamp a purple look even when the lamp is turned off.

Twin Pack 15962
Single Pack 15961
Bulb Type H4
Wattage 60/55w = 135/125w, 3800K/5000K
Technology Super Plasma GT-X with XTRA Technology

is this too much wattage, or is it still ok?

thanks 4 the help

Those look like standard wattage, +/- 5 watts isn't going to hurt anything, heat or current draw.

do you think that the 5000k low beam on the replacement fog lights will match the stock main headlights?

Those PIAAs will not match at all. IMO it's not worth the $80-$120 for these bulbs, which can burn out within a few months.

If you really want them to match perfectly, then buy an aftermarket HID kit. No halogen bulb will come close to matching the intensity & color.

the replacement fog lights do not need to match, but they need to "go with "the stock headlights

Just about anything will look better then the dingy yellow light of the OEM fog/high bulbs. I have the PIAA Xtreme whites and when you are standing in front of the car they are close to the same color of the HID's. But if you shine your headlights on a wall you will notice a difference.

The only thing with the PIAA's is they don't last very long.

should i get the Super Plasma GT-X or the Xtreme whites. I kind of like the idea of 5000k low beams, but what do you think?

btw, how long do the PIAA last?

Get whatever is least expensive, since they burn out so fast. They will probably last anywhere from a few months to a year depending on how much you use them. I've had mine for over a year but I don't always have them on when the headlights are on. I changed my clearence lights to Xtreme Whites and they lasted almost two years and those are always on with the headlights or parking lights.
