Talking Few fixes, need suggestions!

Hi, I just recently bought a used 2005 G35 Coupe 6mt and Im already in love... But like every used car, it came with minor defects.
First, the passenger door doesnt always unlock with the clicker on the keys, and i have multiple clickers so it isnt the battery in those or anything. Im just curious if anyone has had this same problem or if its an easy fix or not?
Second thing, I love the leather seats in this car however, one of the previous owners must have been a fatty because theres a giant hole in the leather on the bottom half of the drivers seat on the door side. From the research ive done it looks like the cheapest way to fix this would be to buy a brand new seat?

This is my first post on here so be generous if I effed something up.
Thanks!

driver side leather tearing is a very common issue especially on the 03-04 models. You can get the leather panel replaced for a few hundred at an upholstery shop. The door lock not locking from the fob is only the first of your issues, eventually it will not lock from inside the car either. Look into some people on these forums who repair the issue as well some walk throughs on how to fix the door lock actuator.

Do a search on these issues, very common.

Just any old upholstry shop would have the leather or be able to get the leather for an 05 coupe? Or would it have to be a special upholstry shop? And yea, i will definitely start looking into the door lock asap because i would hate to have to leave the car unlocked...

any upholstery shop should be able to order the exact leather that was used on the car. Just give them the year and specs and they should be able to order it.

Would they be able to get if for a decent price? Because I checked with the dealership and they want to charge over a grand for a piece of leather lol. Anyone know if the leather from an 03-04 g35 coupe would fit an 05 g35 coupe? like would all the buttons and whatnot match up?

I am new just like you but this seems like a known problem. Every car I looked at while shopping for mine had a tear either passenger or driver's side.
