Fog/High Which bulb matches the stock HID the best?

I have read all the previous posts and I am more confused now than when I first started reading them.

So what I have gathered is that the fog/high is a D2R bulb and I should be looking for either a Philips or Osram bulb around 4000k-6000k to match the stock HID's right?

Does anyone have any pix of this combination and where they purchased the D2R's from?

What I am trying to accomplish is a close match to the stock low beams, I do not want to change both to have a blue/purple tint but rather to have a matching set.

Also will switching to a D2R bulb still give me the ability to use the high beam feature that our fogs currently do?

Thanks!

The high beam/ fog light on my 05 g is a H4 bulb not HID, just halogen... If you want to upgrade to an HID bulb you need to get a conversion kit. Bulb ballast etc.. if you want them to match. Some ppl say that the PIAA H4 bulbs look close to the HID in our cars but I doubt it the only thing that looks like HID is HID...

HID KITS

You can get a Bi-Xenon kit that will give a high beam function. They're a bit more pricey than normal HID conversion kits.

So the Fog/High is actually a H4 bulb, thanks. So what would be the best H4 matching to the stock HID?

Some ppl say PIAA super whites look close but nothing matches HID like HID like I stated above. Most ppl but Siver Stars, Noyka, and some ppl use Eurodesigns....

Yea I agree nothing will match the HID's but I am looking for the *best* match. anything will look better than the dingy yellow stock fogs...

Does anyone know a good reputable online or B&M to order some silverstars or MTEC's?

Thanks

You should be able to find Sylvania Silverstars at you local auto parts store. For PIAA I ordered from here:
http://www.optauto.com/

I have had both the Sylvania and PIAA Xtreme Whites on my sedan. The PIAA is a bit whiter then the Sylvania but more expensive. They are both 100 times better then the stock H4 bulbs, but not an exact match to the HID's.

I purchased my MTEC H4's from autospeedy
You can probably find them on Ebay as well.....

Heres a few pics they are slightly overexposed...but you get the idea. The last pic shows the bulbs blue reflection in the housing from the flash on the camera.......hope this helps.

MTEC H4s match great and they're way cheaper than PIAAs.
