I'm new here and I need your help. Thanks.

To make a long story short, my niece's car ( '08 G35x Sedan) was broken into from the rear right side window a couple nights ago.

Here are the pics:

I've done a few google searches for the technical term of the pillar circled in red but only yielded snap on pillar trims. This pillar post is metal and not the plastic clip on trimming. I would have done a search on this forum first before posting a new thread but I really don't know the right terminology to search for, so please excuse my noobness.

Can anyone tell me what this is called? It needs to be fixed first before safelite can install the glass because it is bent. Also, is this part of the whole door or is it a separate piece which I can remove and replace? Lastly, how much will I be looking at if this is not a DIY job and would have to bring to a body shop?

Sorry for so many questions but any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's not part of the door, you can order it from the dealer. When you get it just hand it to the people replacing your glass. They can't charge you anything to put that peace in as it has to be removed to install the new glass.
