csukoh, how difficult was it for you to remove the sealant around the edge of the tray? I left mine on when I sent it to the body shop but was curious.

ok so the hood was taped off and in the paint booth yesterday. had pictures taken while it was drying in the paint booth late last night. was having trouble describing what I was having painted and what wasn't to be painted, but a picture is worth a thousand words. so here's two thousand words worth...

Did they say anything about the difficulty in painting the carbon fiber?

ope csukoh. they contacted and area rep that supplies their paints and supplies to double check any special procedures for painting over the gelcoat that ViS uses. but the owner assured me that it wouldn't be any trouble. he said they would use some procedure that isn't common but nothing extreme. spoke with him later in the evening and he said when he left for the day he checked it again and it was looking perfect so far. they just wanted it to bake and completely cure over night. then they'd clearcoat it a couple times to seal it and call me when it's done. I was counting on the contrast of the carbon fiber to stand out. when looking at the frotn of the car, there are black grilles in the bumper, I'm installing the Gialla grille which has black mesh in the center. so a few black carbon fiber accents on the hood continue the pattern. thanx for teh props, truplay8.

How much did they charge you to paint the hood?

haven't paid yet. owner is friend, siad he'll just charge what they'd charge to paint a panel or normal hood. 100-150.
