Paint matching question

I had some body work done due to an "off track excursion"
the mechanical work is 100%
the paint color is 100%
the coarseness of the metal particles doesn't match though
the particles in the factory paint are finer...

non car ppl that ive shown it to cant see a difference and think it looks great

is it really difficult or impossible to do a good match ?
in a week from now i may not care lol but im mostly just interested

It would help to know what color it is. Some colors are a lot harder to blend then others like silvers for example. I had a silver celica that needed pretty much the right half of the car redone thanks to a deer and it didn't match after the first time so I took it back and after I returned it 3 times because they couldn't get it right (after I told them to just do the whole car so it was done) they finally listened and just painted the whole car so it would match. Same deal though, noone else could notice it except other car nuts.
