Something to think about when buying a knock off kit.
I thought I would post this to answer some questions on these knock off kits. I just went though this a few weeks ago so Ill post my thoughts.
Up until now I supported the knock off kit thing. I use to think to myself hey why not! These guys are making a killin off these real kits! After doing some research I dove in and ordered a knock off INGS rear, INGS sides and a knock off Greddy front bumper. I was painting my car and thought this would be a good time to do this. So after a LONG delay in shipping my kit came in. Boy I dunno where to start! The sides wouldnt even fit on the car. They looked as though they were pulled from the mould too soon and twisted while drying. They also had large bubbles in them. They were also cracked in spots, there was no chance that they could go on my car. Next was the knock off Greddy front bumper. The fitment was DEAD on! BUT the seems were higher then the rest of the bumper and needed to be sanded. Well this was a problem cause the bumper was PAPER thin! Yes no BS PAPER thin! You could see through it! I dont know why they didnt add more fiber when they were using the chopper gun but they didnt. So the long process started of glazing the whole bumper. For those of you that dont know this is a LONG process. Its when you spread filler over the whole bumper then sand then reapply then sand then prime then look for pin holes then fill and sand again. I also had to add glass to the back of the bumper to beef it up because it was so fuggin thin! This took me about seven hours from start to finish. Bodyshops charge about 70.00 a hour for labor, You do the math!
As some of you know Ive been modding and building cars for A LONG TIME! Im no newbie at this game. I also do paintwork and bodywork on the side. The question you have to ask yourself is, is it really worth it? Could you have bought the real deal for the price that the bodyshop charges you to make it right? For me its not worth it. Im lucky that Im dealing with a Vendor that is trying to make it right BUT are you sure that if something goes wrong will your person take care of you?

actually, it's called research... the REAL ings +1 kit doesn't fit worth a **** either!
i purchased a Nismo replica bumper from the same vendor and I had none of the issues you had - the bumper looked to be very well constructed and strong, even though the outer finish was not the best (easily fixed though) - in the end, I was very happy with my bumper and recommend it to anyone who wants the Nismo look without the Nismo price tag...

Quality, Fitment & potential trouble you might deal with are the ones you will face when you get the replicas

I agree.. you get what you pay for... But there will them those lucky few... Like on my RSX... I had pruchased a replica C-west kit... The only thing needed to be done on that kit was paint... Fitment was OEM yO'... I was so shocked... everyone thought it was authentic...

wow.. I am surprised the GReddy knockoff was composed of chopped strand mat glass. Is the authentic GReddy laid fabric or chopped strand mat? For 100 bones cheaper, I don't think the knock off is even worth it.
Thanks for elaborating to all of us.
