Where to get K32 Serengeti Sand paint that isnt 40$ a can?
Where to get K32 Serengeti Sand paint that isnt 40$ a can?
So the auto body shops in my area are on crack with their prices, apparently to repaint my passenger front fender - no damage, no rust. Just sand prime paint clear, Is $300. Several shops have quoted this price without even seeing the car.
I have done body work and paint and I want to do it myself, but the cheapest prices I'm finding for spray cans of K32 Serengeti Sand are like 42$ a can. I dont know if I can find the paint and have a shop make it into cans maybe?
Can anyone help me out here with finding this paint at a better price or is this what I'm stuck with? From what I see the usual Duplicolor 10$ cans dont come in this color either.

It's a really tough color to match. I would be very specific where I got it from if I was picking that unique of a color.
In my area they want about 2:3rds of that, but I live in a rust belt town.

I'm in milwaukee, WI area. We get a ton of rust so youd think these places would do it cheap given its rust free and just a repaint...
I am more than capable of doing it myself but the paint is hella expensive so far. Touch Up Express sells a pint for 45$, but I have no idea the quality and there are hardly any reviews on that brand...
Going to call sherwin William's and some other places tomorrow and price out an option other than spray cans. I can always have a place make it into cans?
Freakin Maaco is trying to tax $275 a body part. They also consider a side skirt the same price as a quarter panel? Lol. And me bringing a spoiler removed from the car is apparently the same price too. *** clowns.

Before I retired we were using Matrix. Excellent paint and very similar to PPG except when you reduce the Matrix to spray it will cut further so you don't need as much product. The problem with mixing paint is even with a computer mixing system when you're wanting to make a small amount of base you can't go below a 1/2 pint usually as it seems to alter the formula. 1/2 pint of base is mixed 1:1 and a pint should be enough to paint a spoiler unless K32 is transparent, then I'd mix a pint of base and have a quart. One thing, no matter who's paint you use is see if they have a scanner, have them clear it's memory so it doesn't "cheat" and scan the top of the decklid.
I've never bought paint on my own, I always had a body shop buddy get it for me so I only ever did the work and spraying so I'm totally new at trying to find this paint at a decent price... wish I still had the help of my friend.
After about a thousand calls, I found an excellent reputable automotive paint supplier in my area that's been supplying the shops out here for years.
They will sell me my choice of k32 Serengeti Sand in either Omni or more expensive version ( cant recall the name) at 50$ a pint and make it into cans if I want.
Awesome guy I spoke to there I'll be picking it up monday.
Really glad I was able to find the paint myself.. I will get a better result than maaco out of cans and actually be able to properly blend it. I used to love painting cars I'm excited to do it again lol.
