05 sedan instrument panel self-repair?

What exactly fails inside the clusters that makes the fuel gauge malfunction and makes some of the dash lights inconsistent. Is it possible the pins are breaking loose from their solder and just loosing connection and is the cluster sealed? I've fixed several older Honda's with electronic dashes that do that but have never touched a g35 dash. If there's a thread that answers this point me at it, I'm sick of my fuel gauge.

To my understanding, its some resistors that can burn out over time. But first, I'd be certain its not one of the sending units failing in the tank (these cars have 2)
