I was having connection problems on my battery and while starting the car the fuel gauge bounced around and ended up swinging right around so it's now behind the little tick at the bottom when I turn the car on the gauge moves up and hits the little stopper tick ? Is there anyway to fix this ?!?!

i think the only way to fix it is to take of the clustert and the lense and move the needle back to its proper position. i had seen a video on youtube about this.

I HAVE THE EXACT SAME THING RIGHT NOW!

I've been suffering with it for the past 7-8 months when winter passed over.
Never got around to disassembling the dash. Im not worried about taking it apart. More worried about putting it back together.

If you found an alternative PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

Easy $4 dollar fix. Buy a strong magnet from Home Depot. Use the magnet to guide the needle back to its original spot

This better work. I tried using a decent magnet but it wasnt strong enough. Good for only a half inch range.

One question. Is there anything I need to worry about electronically? I know magnets and electronics don't necessarily play well.

This is the magnet I bought http://www.homedepot.ca/product/cera...ts-2pcs/957203

Nothing to worry about. Just use the magnet for the fuel gauge nothing else. I know this works because I just fixed mine 2 days ago.

Do not turn on your car when doing this
Place magnet near needle until u see it move
Guide the needle around (clockwise)
Once it reaches past F (full) release the magnet and let the needle drop on its own on top of the stop

Going to try this out today. I'm hoping the needles are the same between the 07 G's and the 06's.

Well it didnt work. I tried some big circle magnet looking thing on a stick. It didnt have the power to get through the plastic barrier to move it.

But when I tried some tiny magnet lock thing meant for car alarms, and I think it moved A LITTLE. Or I was seeing things.

Going to try buying a super magnet from Home Depot or Lowes and see if it works... Then return it

If the super magnet doesn't work I will. Taking it apart isnt what I'm worried about. More along the lines of putting it back together.

I GOT IT!!

Got those ceramic block magnets from Lowes. It took a while to figure out the physics of the needle and magnet (30 seconds), but I got it to the half way point. Let it sit there. The turned her on. BOOM! Finally a functional needle, never before have I been so happy.

But I have a feeling it'll flip over again. Cause when I turned it on this morning it loves to fly up and down along the right side. But that's what the magnet is for

Glad it worked for you. If it flips over you have a magnet to fix rather than removing the whole cluster

One thing I did notice. If you go into diagnostics mode on your cluster. The needle doesnt line up with the middle line. It's slightly below. Just a note, so the assumption I think for now is that it's displaying slightly less than it should. I'll see when the low gas light turns on to confirm if it really is displaying in-accurately.

EDIT: Seems like it's completely fine. Low gas light came on at the last line and at fill up, it drank a solid 17 gallons. Everything is back to the way it should be.
