so when you switch from foglight to highbeam, that little metal shield rotates out of the way? how quickly does it move? (i.e. can you still flash your highbeams?)

also, could you maybe post a pic of what it looks like from inside the car with...
1. just lowbeam HID on
2. lowbeam HID with foglight HID
3. lowbeam HID with highbeam HID

also, are these blinding to other people on the road? i don't wanna get hassled by the cops for anything like that. what is the pricing like? and Ed, how much would you be charging for the labor?

SI, the high beam is instant. there is a metal shield with a hole in it under the bulb so that under normal conditions, its just a low beam. when you flick your high beams, the bulb gets sucked into the socket so that it lines up with the hole and light can reflect off of the bottom of the headlight reflector.

i will post pics of the first two requests side by side in a dark street with another coupe without the HIDs so you can see the basic difference. the third i cant yet since i have a prototype on my car that does not have the high beam. hopefuly i can get this done around the end of next week.

these are really bright but so far i havent had any problems with cops or anything like that.

thank alan, i appreciate it

oh, and how difficult is it to get the headlight housing out of the car? can this mod be done by jacking up the car, removing the wheel, and taking off the fender liner, or does the headlight REALLY need to be outta the car?

and where and how did you mount the ballast?

shoot me a PM regarding pricing... are you doing a bundle with the EuroOptix 6k lowbeam replacements too?
