Euro Optix HID install guide with pics!
At last, the long awaited Euro Optix HID post is here! I won’t go into how to take apart your bumper and get the headlight out since that is already covered here in this forum. This is specifically for those who are interested in Euro Optix HIDs. I have already talked to many of you who are interested, and as most of you know, the high beam compatible kit needs some minor modifications to work.
This is not the only way to do this!!! If you are uncomfortable with cutting part of your headlights, its okay! I did it this way because I want to be able to easily replace the bulbs in the event that they burn out down the road. So, here it goes:
Supplies
Wire cutters
Dremel with drill bit and a circular sanding bit (you’ll see it in the write-up)
Soldering Iron
Solder
Heat Shrink Tubing or electrical tape
1. below is a picture of the cap behind the fog light, and the plug that attaches to the back of the bulb

2 cut the 3 wires and pull them free of the cap so you get what’s pictured below

3 now that this piece is free, solder it back together, so it is free from the cap.

4 next, you are going to have to drill out part of the center of the cap. This hole is for the circular rubber piece that is pictured in the next step.

5 okay, now you will see why you had to do this. This is a picture of the high beam fog light bulb. As you can see, there is a metallic shield with a piece cut out of it and the bulb moves down into position when you turn on your high beam. The two wires on the top are what powers the bulb. The third wire on the bottom is what tells the bulb to engage or disengage the high beam. The problem is that the bottom wires that control the high beam aren’t placed with in the rubber circle that you see in the middle of the 2 wires on top. This rubble circle allows the wires to run in and out of the headlight while keeping moisture out.

6 What we are going to do is first strip the heat shrink off of the high beam wire, cut this wire, feed the wires through the rubber circle, and then reattach the wires as they were previously. Note: depending on how big you drilled the hole in the center cap, you might want to solder the wires back together while they are already threaded through

7 After all this, it should look something like this:

Overall, this shouldn’t take too long. The longest part of all this is getting the headlight out of the damn car! For those of you who are getting these HIDs, we might be able to arrange for some of these steps to be done for you. Again, here are some pictures of my Euro Optix HIDs in action. Feel free to ask any questions. If you are interested in getting a set, PM me.
