Step light bulb = center dorm light bulb?

are they the same? I bought a pair of blue dorm light, realized that they are too dark and want to put them for step light. However, their size are a little different.

The T6 bulb is bigger then the stock step light bulb but it will work. I have PIAA T6 bulbs in my doors.

Yes, it will fit with a little extra pushing. It will not "burn the wire".

I've had them in for probably six months, no problems whatsoever.

I just swapped both of them out with T-6 bulbs. It literally took me all of 5 minutes to do all 4 bulbs. If you're in the DC area let me know and I can help you out or you can come out to the National G Club DIY day on June 4 and I can swap them for you then.
