Okay the hitch came in today.. Well it was in last week but they ordered the one for the sedan. Got the call that the coupe hit was in and headed down. It took the installer about 45-an hour for the install. Probably would have been faster if he was not stopping to take phone calls.

The hitch looks good. The 1 1/4 in receiver sits right below the liscence plate. It looks like they had about 4 bolts holding it onto the rear bumper. Two behind the liscence plate and two underneath. They did cut less than a two inch notch out of the rear bumper but the only way you would ever see that would be if you crawled underneather the car. They let me took a look at it while it was up on the rack.

I am sorry I did not take pictures of it when it was on the rack. I was half way down there and forgot that I had taken the camera out of the car. But I will try to take some pics this weekend when I take the bike out for a ride.

The hitch and the install look great. I think it is a must do for anyone who wants to still bring their bikes and not have to load it in the car. The hit says it's rate to 1,000 pounds. I cannot tell you if that fits in the jet ski weight or not.. But for bikes, it can't be beat.

I have a black G so I think you really have to look to see the reciever. You guys let me know when you see the pictures this weekend.

The hitch shipped and with tax was a little of two hundred, and the install was $45. I am sure if you had drills a cutter for the bumber you could do it yourself, but I am not a handy man so I think it was money well spent.

The install was done by a hitch guy in Santa Clara on El Camino right next door to the brushless carwash and the adult book store. If you have any questions go ahead and PM me.

Awesome, I've been on the fence about buying one, not knowing exactly if it would work, but it sounds like the hitch for the coupe does! You ordered the Curt Manufacturing one right? If you could take some pics underneath, that would be awesome, since I need to decide if I'm going to install myself or if I should have someone do it. Thank god, I've really missed having a bike rack, from going from a full Thule roof rack on my Civic to having no option in the G..... Now I need to find a good quality hitch rack to go along with this.

If anyone here has installed an electrical connection for lights as well, can you tell me how you did it? I'm figuring I might do that as well, since I may need to haul a small uhaul trailer in the near future.....

Hitch pictures

Here are some pictures of the hitch that I had installed last week. You will see on of the pictures has the part number on it. The guy that installed it said that the manufacture Curt bought out De'Lan and that is where he got the hitch from. I used it today and it was great. Took about a minute and a half to put on, about the same to take it off.

Finally! I can haul my bike around. I was able to fit my Trek inside, but when i got my specialized allez it wouldn't let me close the hatch.

What kind of hitch rack is that and what did it run you? Nice Giant btw! You wouldn't happen to be bikeforums.net would yah?

I can finally take my bike with me!!!
If you don't mind can you please take a few more pics of the area where the bumper was cut? And where it the bolts attach under the license plate?

Also a pic of the hitch without the bike on? I want to see how noticeable/not noticeable it is.

How much was it?

Sorry for all the questions, but I want to do the install myself.

i like the idea of a hitch and am going to install one on my g to tow my jetskiis, i previously had a jeep grand cherokee and miss the capability to tow, but a solution for all of you jet ski people out there for launching is something i found at a jet ski shop in socal. it is an aluminum cart that has a long handle on it, i used it so that i did not have to put the trailer in salt water, it was around $300 because the shop was going out of business and needed to get rid of stuff but i am sure if you did a search you should be able to find something similar, this cart fully breaks down for ease of storage and transportation and comes with an option for sand tires if you want, just a suggestion

That is so cool. I wonder how long it would take to remove/re-install if you only need it every so often. If all the holes are drilled it may not be bad at all. I may get one for those few times I do need it.

Any updates on hitches for the 07' sedan? I am buying a bike to help in my quest to get back down to 4% body fat.

"""Wow! I'm pretty shocked by the members who feel it necessary to tell someone to get another vehicle rather than to put a hitch on their car... Then to take it a step further and say if they can't afford to do so, they should have bought a different vehicle... Simply amazing to me..."""

I agree, WTF people..... should they move and buy a new house too cuz their commute is longer then 30 minutes and the new G sedan only gets about 18-22 MPG?

a car is a tool u buy it to use it. so use it.
