i just had my tint done by a small mom and pop shop. i researched them first, and found that he uses a glue ontop of whats already on the film itself. i used to tine windows 10 years ago and i never seen this done so well as what he did. to top it all off, he did the rear window in one piece!
IMO, check around to find a better tint-er.

not really, sometimes some tinters will have to do it in two pieces depending on the curves. they hide the line with one of the lines from the rear window defrost. most wont even notice.

Not necessarily. There are installers who have trouble shrinking film on a glass like the G35s while some of the more skilled installers could tint the Volkswagon Beetle's rear in one piece w/ no problem. This really comes down to experience. To date, there's not one glass on the mkt that we cannot tint in one piece......it just takes a little longer for some of the excess curved glasses (Camaros, Beetle, Transam, etc)

They wet sanded mine, but were very carefull not to go too deep because GPS signal reception and what not run through those areas...(for those with OEM NAV)...or so Im told.

I'm told if the tinters use the glue it voids the manufacuturer's warrenty on the tint. It may look better now, but I don't know how long that will last.

You can't tell the difference...reason being they dont sand it completely off, so it still looks like any untouched car sitting on the dealers lot...and it doesn't leave the silver lining either.
