Has anyone seen a silver carbon fiber hood? I have to replace my hood and was thinking about getting a silver cf hood. The only cf hoods I've seen are the black ones and I can't pull that look off very well.

I think it has possibilities. With all the people who think about modification out there I can't be the first one to try this.

I have a silver 03 sedan.

Any thoughts?

 

you can get a carbon fiber hood and get it painted............it has been done numerous times before and looks nice on silver. Some people like to leave the vents carbon fiber.

 

There are carbon fiber hoods in which the fibers were dyed/colored to a certain color. Usualy it looks normal, but with a hue of color. Silver isnt exactly a color that can be dyed into the fibers, so that might not work. Some have even put a colored pearl coat over the hood which has a really cool effect... but again, no such thing as a silver pearl.

 

they should start making silver CF parts for our cars since silver CF is starting to get popular....especially with the BMW e46 guys...

 

the whole CF trend is getting old actually. In the US, it started getting big around 6 years ago.

 

VIS makes colored CF hoods... it was one of those ads in the cars mags... I'm pretty sure silver was one of the main colors they had... they showed a R34 with a silver hood, bumper, and fenders...

 

I've seen a few silver carbon fiber hoods. They weren't from VIS but the fitment was downright nasty as was the material.

check these out. they are done by carbon fiber one. looks like good work. i think it could probably work on a silver sedan if they got the color right. it's different that's for sure. not so in your face as the black hood on silver sedan.

what do you guys thinik?
