CF A Pillar Update

A couple weeks back, there was a post made in regard to cf pillars for the coupe. Several people were interested so I decided to go ahead and contact CFType to see if they could produce an A Pillar in carbon fiber. Here's what they said:

"If you are interested in making a mold for the G35 A pillars you must
supply us with the A pillars to make the mold off of. You are required to
pay for the mold and then the finished product afterwards. The mold will
take about 2 months and the cost on making a mold is going to be $1200.
The finished product afterwards willl cost $250."

So basically a long story short, if enough people want to get these made we need a vendor to sponsor it. I know I'm definitely not going to throw down $1200 plus another $250 for the set. If anyone happens to know any carbon fiber places that would produce this product, then feel free to contact them! This was just a quote from CFType.

That's somewhat expensive. If we can get the original A-pillars, we can produce them and sell for around $200 shipped, and the mold will be free if there are 10 buyers or more. It's probably not a good idea to chip in to pay for the mold, since this just gives the vendor a free mold and after your inital purchase, they will probably keep selling the a-pillars, so it's more like you invest in something and they make profit off it.

Now that definitely sounds a lot more reasonable to me. So now the real question is, where all the people the expressed interest in these things a while back??

Currently they are making the cener piece of the KS bumper in carbon for me. They do great quality work. how many people are interested in the pillar? (just an approx in number) 10-15??? ill talk to them about it to see what they can do

Yeah RugRat I was speaking in the case of the coupe. I saw the one pic you originally posted and loved how it turned out, plus it seemed like the majority of the original interest was for the coupe.

Gdup if you want to get a ballpark figure on getting some made that would be great although I'm not expecting it to be much better than SilviaParts price but I could be wrong.

RR I think this is the pic you posted before:
