Now you can either pay an arm and a leg for new bulbs, or you can just cut the nipple off, and the bulb will fit right in. As soon as the car is out of the shop, I'll post pics of the lights. He just ordered new rims, Axis Mods 20x10.5 in the rear and 20x9.5 in the front, with the full tein suspension. So when that's ready I'll post pics.
Wow I have to eat my shoe now. THat is good news for all. If it is $600 I would DEFINITELY get the 06 headlights. Boost you need to remove the top shielding on your D2R bulb to make it work correctly.

Just FYI i got Osram 4100K D2S bulbs for $60. SO it really isn't that pricey.

For $650, that's a great option. I'd go with those 06 lights if I didn't already have some other plans.

Has the front bumper been installed with the new lights yet? Curious to see if the lights truly are identical!

the '06 lights are in fact bi-xenon. I have to correct what I said earlier, the '06 lights do come with ballast from the dealer, but they DONT come with bulbs. So its even better of a deal, cuz I thought that they came without ballast. Just to recap on what I had said, the '06 lights are cheaper than the older ones, only because they don't include the bulb. You have to order it separately. The old lights, you CANT order without the bulbs, and therefore theyre more expensive. Once again guys, keep in mind that the price I got them at is my price. I think the list price on the lights was like $500 a piece, and my price was $325. Diesal, the bumper should fit just fine. I'll post pics of it when the bumper is on. Klumzyee, I'll send you pics of the old lights. The left one has a scratch on the bottom cuz of the accident. And like I said earlier, its my best friends car, so I would have to ask him if he wants to sell them. PM if anything.

That is great news the 06 headlights work. Hopefully Grubbs or one of the other Infiniti dealers that sell parts online will offer a good price on the headlights.

Is this a difficult install (how long would it take)? Does the bumper have to be removed to swap the housing?

I noticed Performance Nissan Parts is selling the bi-xenon 2006 350Z headlights for $1,295 with bulbs. Hopefully the G35 headlights are less, but I doubt it.
