Kenstyle Body Kit, intercooler ok ?

Hi guys/gals, im interested in buyin a kensytle body kit, yes yes, i know there are a billion ppl with it...but why not

Question is with those ppl with the body kit, hows the front bumper if i decide to go S/C with an intercooler ? The front bumper from what i can see has a mid line, wondering if that would cause problem in fittin an intercooler in the future? Not like TS bumper or Greddy where the front mouth is wide open...Hopefully my question makes sense. Thanks for all the input ahead of time.

it depends on what turbo/SC you go with.

depending on the manufacturer, the intercooler can either go in front of or in back of the "bumper support beam".

I can confirm that an APS intercooler will work (goes in back) as well as a Vortech (not sure...G352NV would be the person to pm)

without anything specific in terms of which kit u want, nothing more i can do to help you.

my installer says for my goal, there is sufficient airflow...again, depends on your specific application.

Thx and awesome job on your yellowG3

I'm planning to go Vortech with an intercooler but as a daily driver. Figuring with that in mind, i guess the airflow wouldn't matter too much since I want to be on the conservative end of the boost. I just want to make sure the intercooler will fit ok with the kenstyle kit. Oh hey drsifu1 can you pm on how much you got your kenstyle for ? just want to compare if you dont mind.
Thanks again.

i paid too much for the kit back in the day

a good price shipped is under $2500. You could easily find one for $2700. i know some of the vendors on this site may have it for low $2000s.

and in the spirit of full disclosure, there are plenty of replicas of this kit that will lighten your wallet far less than the original. i cannot speak on fitment since it will vary. i have heard great fitment and I have heard horrible fitment.

good luck

Its really not fitment that was a problem for one of my buddies. Its was how wavy the kit was. We had to put MANY hrs into blocking the kit down to get it straight. With mine I scuffed it primered it and shot it. Its just not worth the extra time involved in the knock off. To me anyway.

Thx for all the info guys, also with a vortech s/c with a kenstyle rear bumper, what exhaust would fit best with the best performance for the vortech s/c ? i was hopin to go with the INJESN SES exhaust, but not sure if that would fit the kenstyle since the canaster are in an angle thanks again.
