Sorry to hear that your spoiler arrived like that Henry. Mine was a bit sanded down, but everything was smooth and there wasn't anything that looked as deep as yours.

I'd have to see an overall pic, but I don't think it'd be a big thing to fix during a good prep and paint. Good luck with it man!

GLAD I DIDNT DO THAT GROUP BUY! Sorry to see that but you can get that preped and painted at any good shop. The spoiler deffinately should not have arrived like that but it can at times come sanded down on certain areas however the deep gauges you have are unacceptable. After having to wait 6 months for the thing I would try and get it prepped well and painted. RX

My spoiler had those white spots as well but was smooth all around. I did not have any of those etchings that I see on yours.

I don't think that's a real Data System/Illusion spoiler (I could be wrong though).

I personally had one imported from Japan and it was more of a whitish/yellow color (fiberglass). There were some inperfections but not nearly close to what you've shown. If you got the legit DS/I spoiler it should have came with a instruction packet (in Japanese) with mounting tape and an Illusion sticker.

Some fabricator might have come up on some profits.

All is not lost though, if you take it to a reputable body shop they should be able to take care of it and will look something like:

Also, I'm pretty sure mine did not have a "Data System CPV35" imprinted like the one in the picture you posted.

Yeah, just as everyone above said, a body shop should be able to fix it.

Same as Riche12ich, mine didn't have the manufacturer's 'brand' ( ) . I seem to recall if being mainly black gel-coated, perhaps with yellow showing through where sanded? It's been a while.

Mine was smoothed, but very nicely done. Definately didn't have gouges all over it.

At this point, I'd suggest just having the bodyshop do the necessary prep work before painting/installing it.
