My review of customautomesh.com
Well i saw a bunch of people on here give this place good reviews so i thought i would order from them. My grille mesh was chipping so it seemed like a logical idea since theirs was chip proof. Anyways I ended up paying $22 or something for the product.
So the package finally arrived and i was surprised to see that i paid $19 for a piece of plastic mesh that wasn't even trimmed to fit my grill, it was just a huge rectangular piece. Then the mounting kit was just a bunch of pieces of 16 gauge solid lead wire cut up into 3 inch strips... what the hell am i supposed to do with this?
Well the positive thing is that the mesh is good quality (although it isnt worth the price) and i know it wont chip because its made from PVC or something. all i know is that this company, and yes i know people who are affiliated with it are on this board, is probably making a **** ton of money on plastic mesh marked up 1000%. I don't see whats so custom about this mesh, if it was custom then i wouldn't have to cut it to fit my grille then would I?

No doubt broseph. This is the kind of quality I expect from a kid working out of his basement supplying 1987 CRX's with parts he's developed on a Saturday afternoon after a trip to Lowe's. Definitely not up to the standards of some of us. This stuff is usually starts @ $3 per sq.yd. depending on how well you've done your homework. Mark-up's make the money!
First off, thank you for your order.
As a formality, we routinely cut the mesh larger then needed to insure people have enough to cover the area they need. It also allows greater flexibility when installing because if we cut it exactly to size, you would have to futz with it for a lot longer then it takes to install a slightly larger piece then trim. As for the hardware, an authentic Top Secret bumper uses something thinner then paperclips to hold their mesh on, the 14AWG solid core wire we provide is much stronger and durable. All you need to do is use some epoxy to secure the anchors. Once the epoxy cures, you use the anchors to secure the mesh. This is how every genuine body kit manufacturer, that we have seen, secures their mesh. If you or anyone has any ideas for alternatives, we can certainly look into it.
As far as cost goes, there is a markup on wheels, suspension parts, light bulbs, and every other aftermarket part. It's a part of business. It is a PITA to get home after a 14 hour "real work" day and lay everything out to cut mesh and fill orders. Trust me, we can both be doing better things with our time. We do our best to ship the orders as quick as possible can and even explain on the website why it may take a few extra days.
As mentioned on our website, Coupin and I are car enthusiasts who are doing this more because we love cars, then anything else. We saw a need in the market for the product and tried to fill it. If you look on EBAY, you will find far inferior products for about the same cost. Any painted metal will eventually chip. In addition, the metal mesh options, even ones that come with authentic kits, look substandard in the eyes of many. Finally, no one else offers quality plastic mesh suitable for use on vehicles.
Do we make a profit on the mesh? Yes, of course we do, but trust me when I tell you that we end up with a few bucks to go out to dinner and put gas in our G's. We are retiring off of it that's for sure. In all honesty, I don't need the extra gas money. It's more of a hobby thing.
If there is any feedback you can offer, please feel free let us know. Perhaps we should include instructions for how to utilize the anchors. That could definately be our fault for assuming people/body shops would know how to secure it.

Just to reiterate Diesel's point, I wish I had pictures of the garbage that was sent with the real TS kit a friend of ours had purchased. We used it to mount the stock mesh that came with the bumper and after a 2 hour car ride, half the mesh was sitting inside the bumper all detached. Almost all of the "mounting brackets" they supplied were broken or loose.
We feel our product is superior to this and is made from Polyethylene which is softer and more flexible than the metal mesh found in Home Depot and on eBay. It is also more durable in cold weather, resists cracking and most of all chipping.
Going forward we will supply instructions on how to adhere the mounting hardware to the kit for those who may be unsure.
Thank you for your feedback and we will make improvements for the future.

it's ok guys. I mean I dunno what this guy expects...for $20 its chump change IMHO and its alot better than the crap you get standard. There will always be someone who wants a BJ w/ their order...but you cant always cater to him/her. I bought my mesh a while back and attached it to my gialla grille...cut to fit and boom...

Not all of us sleep on matresses stuffed with $20 bills like you, it's not the cost of the product it was that I was expecting a little more.

I just got the grills for Greddy front bumper to use with KrumaZ bumper and Kenstyle rear bumper. Yes, I was surprised to see the plastic rolls as I was expecting OEM like thick plastic grills. Anyway, I was actually glad to see that they came in squares so I wouldn't have to worry about them being too small, especially with replica rear bumper and modified Greddy bumper(KurumaZ) I am getting. It is always better to leave some margin for error. The products do seem to be on a bit expensive side, IMO, since I had to spend $80+ total for those grills. However, there is nobody else on the market that offer quality grills and in long term, those grills would pay for themselves by not having to repaint them or replace them due to damage. The insturctions for mounting kits would be great because I was like "WTF is this?" when I opened the package.

Sorry to see some people feel cheated for what they purchased. I purchased this from diesel1 personally and he went out of his way to deliver his product to me. I was so thankful & offered him 20 more then I was supposed to pay just because he went the extra distance to satisfy his customer; but he professionally declined. The beauty of America is that you can make money from your ideas & spend your money where you choose too. If you don't like what he's selling don't buy it & do something about it...don't sit here & be a keyboard commando.
I have the mesh in my gialla grille and love it. $20 bucks to me is nothing when you consider I never have to paint it or worry about chips. It is a much cleaner look in my opinion. I look at it like this, I could spend $3 on the ingredients to make dinner or pay $10 to get it from a restaurant. It's my preference on many occasions to not take the time and effort to make it myself and pay a couple bucks more to have it done for me. Different stroke for different folks. I couldn't be happier with mine.
