I noticed something odd on my g!

Has anyone ever seen a G that has door sidemoldings on? You know that stip that runs horizontally along the door to help from others banging on it. I've had the car for about 6 months now and I JUST noticed it. These don't really bother me but I've looked through tons of photos and I seem to be the only one that has these. I know my G is an early 03' but does anyone else have these?

I think sometimes dealers install it as dealer option so they can steal more money out of buyers I've seen few cars that have side moldings.

wow! I cant believe what you just typed. Did you not wash your car in 6 months? Those things are visible as hell. Extra feature and I chose NO cuz looks crap. Removing after 6 month will probably yield in a different color (unles you have a white car).

Are we talking about coupes or sedans? Because... don't all sedans have them?

sorry, it's a coupe. Yeah, I kinda knew they were there, but I just never noticed I was the only person that had them. I'm scared to take them off now because it's an OB and I'm almost sure there will be a color difference. Anyway, I'm in the city a lot and could prevent me from a door ding.

I've got the side moldings too and I think they look just fine. Sure, they may detract from the "clean" look, but they're absolutely worthwhile if you're living in a big city. I live in Philly where everyone likes to touch your car with theirs. My G is stored in a tiny underground garage and packed with other cars like sardines (not exaggerating). I've been in countless situations where door dings have been prevented by these moldings.

If you're thinking of removing them, remember these points: People with old jalopies tend not to care when they throw open their massive solid steel doors; Large SUV owners tend to park as close to your G as possible so they can fling their doors open when getting in and out; Valet parkers don't really care whether the sides of your car touch any concrete pillars when they're moving your car around; On a windy day at the mall, you'll be glad to know that other people's doors flying open from wind gusts won't mar your G's shine.

its very very very very very x100 strong tape. After i removed it there was a lot of residue that even goo gone could not remove. I ended up having to use 3m adhesive remover.
