Best window tinting films?
ceramic is sweet, but whether you go with F1 Pinnacle or Huper Optik, you'll pay through your a$$. I think the main reason you don't want a metallic is that it will reduce the effective range of your radar detectors and may hinder GPS and/or AM radio reception. Since I wasn't ready to shell out $400+ for ceramic and I didn't want a metallic, I went with a color-dyed. Color dyed tints are typically viewed as cheap and will fade/peel/purple, etc, but Madico's Charcool line is color dyed, and has a lifetime warrenty against all that stuff. My tint job cost me about $200 or so and I think it looks pretty good. Oh, and since tinters have problems with the dots on the back window, I reccomend getting a strip of black vinyl put in on your back winshield so you don't have that weird effect.
Thats funny that everyone says that the dot matrix on the rear window is a pain. I had my window done and redone once(small bubbles) and both times I never had a problem with the dot matrix. If they know what they're doing, youll be fine. As for the F1 Pinnacle, I paid 380 to get 15% all around. Should have been 300 but I tipped $20 and had my front two windows re-done from 50% to 15% for $60. $380 in total
