a/c not working after car sat for 3 months
So my G35 was smashed by a drunk driver (see thread) - today....I got it back. FINALLY! After three months.
So here's the thing...the a/c isn't blowing cold air. I had it running for about 15 minutes and it was still wasn't cold at all. Is this going to be due to the car sitting for 3 months, or is there a bigger problem? Anything I can check for?
The car has to go back to the body shop next week to have a small part replaced, so I'll obviously be mentioning it to them then, but it's gonna be hot this weekend.
Any ideas?

You can look under the hood to see if the compressor is engaging. Depending on how you got smashed, there is a myriad of things it could be (low/high pressure sensor, bad compressor, forgot to fill it, low fill, etc.).
Was any work done inside, on your console or dash? If so, maybe they forgot to reconnect the temp sensor. If not, likely a problem with the a/c unit or an electrical issue between the controls and the unit.

I hit a sign in my G35 and they had to replace the A/C condensor. Turns out there was a faulty gasket in it, leaked out so that would be why my A/C didn't work. They replaced it, charged it back up and works like new.
it could be anything, you have to see what was damaged cause from the accident, and what has been replaced. it can be anything from the system needing to be charged to a damged or plugged component. cant tell without at least a manifold gauge set.
good luck
