If you guys don't want that musty moldy *** smell just make sure you turn the a/c off and run the fan for the last 2-3 minutes of your trip.

It only would have taken me 20 minutes to change my filter if I did not have to clean the housing and the turbine. I also purchased my filter from the dealer for $24. The dealers in St. Louis wanted about $119 to change it themselves.

just changed mine after 48,000 miles, really didnt smell bad and wasn't too too dirty but definitely better now after being changed. Definitely an easy DIY since the dealer wants $125 to do it......

Not only was the filter dirty, but so was the housing and turbine.

How often does everyone change their in-cabin filter?

On a scale of 1 -10 (10 being a huge pain in the A**!) how was the install?

I'm in MD and make daily trips into the city...after 15K (05 cpe), the filter looked pretty clean. It could have been left in for another 15K. I'd say do it every 25K. However, for you first timers..carefully pull the kickplate because a small peice broke off when I changed mine. Also, the tab located left on the white cover for the filter housing can break while you're opening it up to access the filter. Yeah, basically, do not use force for this DIY. I was in a bit of a hurry and ended up with a super glued tab on the housing cover and a reglued kickplate cover colored with blue marker. Sigh.... BTW, the filters can be bought on ebay for 10 bucks...same ones used for a 05 Maxima.

I give it a 2 or a 3. The install was very easy. I actually took my laptop to the car and followed the directions that someone else on this site posted. The OEM filter I purchased from the dealer also included directions. Next time I change the filter it should take less than 10 minutes.

This is the link I used: http://www.g-owners.com/article_read.asp?id=29
