JDM Transmission Mode Switch on Console
JDM Transmission Mode Switch on Console
I have read elsewhere that the blank spot at the top right of our automatic consoles, ahead of the shifter on th epassenger side, is the JDM location for a transmission "mode" switch, i.e. a sport/non-sport mode control switch.
Has anyone discovered whether the harness in the US-spec car will support this? Anyone looked under the console for a connector? I would very much love to be able to effectively switch myself out of "granny mode," and I know I'm not alone!
I also figure others have wondered about this same thing. Anyonehave a definitive answer?
Regards.

Re: JDM Transmission Mode Switch on Console
It's not for a sport mode, it's for a winter mode. Not quite what you're after.

Re: JDM Transmission Mode Switch on Console
Hmmm... are you all referring to the same thing? I ask because:
I think the blank is present on all the AT consoles from the beginning of the US introduction of the Skyline
There is a switch present in all the shots I have seen of JDM Skylines
I thought the 4wd Skyline was a new model... are you referring to the switch placement for the 4wd car? Are you saying this applies to the 2wd cars as well? If it's a winter mode switch for 2wd AT cars, then why don't we get the switch/mode as well, since winters in the Northern US & Canada are at least as harsh as anything in Japan?
Still interested in any info. thanks!
