taking the rear deck apart...
I've taken everything apart except the the rear armrest assembly..
how do I go about taking that off? Its the only thing preventing me from taking the rear deck off and the bose sub.
Thanks
Daniel

Re: taking the rear deck apart...
Soaped,
You have to pull the clips around the outside and also the bolt holding the armrest to the firewall. Have you taken all the seats out? If not, you have to along with all the trim, starting down by the step in back toward the rear quarters by the rear glass.

Re: taking the rear deck apart...
Merlin thanks for the fast reply,
I am down to the bare metal. I've taken the seats, and the trim/side clips all the way to the top.
The only thing left is the rear deck cover itself and the armrest assembly.
I pulled out 4 clips (2 screw type, 2 pushin type) from the armrest assembly and dont know what to do next.
Are there anymore clips that I missed? the thing looks like its bolted on the top but I dont know how to acces and dont want to break it by using too much force.
Thanks

Re: taking the rear deck apart...
When you pull the bolt, it unhooks from the top, but you have to get the bolt out first. I think it is behind the little flat towards the back of the armrest. If not it is below it if you raise it up. Memory not as good as it used to be.[smile] You also have to take off that rubber grommet that goes around the opening into the trunk.

Re: taking the rear deck apart...
thanks, i was trying to pull from the top and it wouldnt boulge.
There is single a round bolt thats about 1.5-2" diameter on the bottom. Is that the bolt? I had trouble removing it before and ended up giving up.

Re: taking the rear deck apart...
That's the one, if it is right behind the armrest. I think it is about a 14mm. Got to put your back into it.

I think you are the fastest replyer i've ever seen lol. Thanks.
I will try to remove it this weekend. I just grab and pull backwards?
Going to measure what the amp is doing if i have time.

Re: taking the rear deck apart...
One of them is plastic and you just pull that one out, but there should be an actual metal bolt holding the armrest to the firewall. that one will need a socket. thanks. just trying to help.

Re: taking the rear deck apart...
Both. Everything below the deck, seats and trim etc have to come off first. Including the trim on the sides of the deck, the rear quarter ones. Hope this helps, just don't force anything.[smile]
