Need your .02 cents

I recently received a polished nismo shifter. It's a little worn so I decided to have my friend powder coat it.
My question is, do you think the plastic inside will melt in the oven?
The plastic seemed pretty thick and durable, however, the oven temp will be around 380 degrees F.
I'm hoping that it won't, but worst case scenario, I'll just fill the inside with some JB weld and re tap some threads into it.
I'll post pics when I get the shift **** back.

oOoo im really not sure... im going to say try it because cars get hot during the summer... granted not 380 but close to 200 in the car... so it maybe able to handle the heat
good luck

Momo Shifter....my .02 cents!
Why not be on the safe side and paint the shifter? Duplicolor paint and then
they're clearcoat should get the job done. This way there's little chance you'll
destroy the shifter....if you're carefull and take your time! (follow the instructions)

just don't want fading. and also that gritty feeling when you spray with a rattle can. I got the shifter for free and I'm also getting it powder coated for free so I'm really not losing much.
Here ya go...

Seriously though, if you got it for free, and don't mind messing it up, go ahead. Like you said, your not losing much. Kinda "taking one for the team" for R&D...
If it's something you really want, i would try to paint it first. Because if it doesn't turn out right, you can always sand it down and try the powder coating. You can't do the powder coating first because if you melt it.......
