gauge needles, how to remove?

gauge needles, how to remove?

Anybody know the trick? I have an 06 and am trying to get the instrument cluster apart (to do blue), but the needles will not come off without breaking them. Has any one on here done this? Help is much appreciated, thanks.

I havn't done it in the G yet but in my last car I just slowly and carefully pried them up with a flat head screw driver. The key is take your time and be gentle.

thanks. Yeah, I tried that. I have done it on several other cars as well, but I am starting to think that maybe they were press fit and/or glued, they just dont want to go and I dont want to pass the limit in a bad way I want to mod the gauge colors, but I don't want to destry it in the process

i am told heat the heads and use butter knives to slowly pull it up off the metal post.

heatgun might be overkill, i would start off with a hairdryer first
