Door armrest/Steering wheel "peeling"...

HEy guys. My door armrest and steering wheel are getting scratched. I try to take the best care of them but it seems like they just keep getting beat up. Has anybody had an issue with this and is it replaceable under warranty?

Yes, we see the same thing also and no, it's not covered under warranty. Sucks huh?

You can get the 08 covers on it. They are harder than he silicone feel on the 07 and early 08.

Mine are scratch free and smooth as a baby's bottom.
What are you guys doing to scratch up your interiors?

Yeah I haven't noticed any of this either, but have read a few different people with this problem. I'll just keep my fingers crossed!

To the OP...are yours just getting scratched or actually peeling? I'd love to see some pics, I just can't visualize it.

Mine got scratched too. Mainly from passengers scratching it when they try to grab the handle to shut the door.

what did it take to get this done? did you simply mention the peeling while in for service or called and spoke with a service manager?

Yes, I showed the piece to the service manager while I was in for an oil change. They were very good about it, no questions asked.

I don't wear any rings, have no finger nails and I am the only driver of my car. Interior was just an eye sore. Scratches came immediately after purchasing the car new with 20 miles on the ticker. So at about 20k I couldn't take it anymore. Had my steering wheel and all four door handles replaced under warranty, a year later not one scratch anywear. So its definitely the material used on the 07's, problem has obviously been fixed. Nissan knows the materials originally used was no good now, thus the replacement no questions asked.

My 08 steering was all scratched up. Maybe it was a left over from 97.
