lol so im doing this conversion right now and realized how the previous people were able to do it, they dont use the steering wheel controls for the radio bec they have aftermarket radios. im mapping this out and everything is in the wrong places. hahah its going to take a lot of remapping and soldering to get this damn thing to work correctly

here is what is needed to make the g37 steering wheel buttons work with stock radio and bluetooth. for the top button make sure you sever the connection above the point where the white wire connects to from behind. red is where you need to cut. the g37 steering wheel buttons have an extra button, telephone hangup and mode are one button on the g35 and its separated on the g37 one so i wired both buttons to have the same function

I know this is an old thread, I just ordered a g37 steering wheel with the airbag, anyone who's done this can you confirm if the pigtail harness (yellow & orange connectors) from the g35 clock spring plug right into the g37 airbag with no problem? I also need to know what i need to do to make sure cruise control and audio controls work as well as the button lighting on the steering wheel. Also Cakestar you've got pm dude.

Thought i'd update this thread, i'm sure many won't care but this is a mod i really wanted, and it is definately more than worth it. i lucked up and found an ipl g37 steering wheel with the red stitching on eBay for like 160 bucks (I've never clicked a button so fast to purchase something in my life, the wheel alone is 1100 without the airbag), ordered a g37 airbag a few days later, finally found time to install everything yesterday. I unpinned the harness and matched it to the 06 g35 harness and all buttons work with no issues. There's another thread on here somewhere that i used for repining the harness as well. The install took 30 min max. Hands down this is the best mod i've done so far.

nope, didn't have to modify anything except for repinning the harness. Gotta say that wheel makes the car feel brand new it's kinda ridiculous lol. Also thanks for the help cakestar.

thats crazy. all of the radio buttons function correctly? like every button does what it should? vol up down mode and everything? when i pinned it up before my mode button was like vol down and so on

edit: actually are you 100% sure all the buttons are functioning as they should? i know the 06 steering wheel light up buttons swap to 04 doesnt require any modifications. so technically it should be using the same resistance for each button..

Yea 210% sure, all buttons work as they should without issue, I know when I first repinned the harness i had mixed buttons so I unhooked the battery so I could Unpin/repin the harness. No issues, I have an 03 if that matters, it shouldn't though. You using the factory radio?

That's identical to how I pinned mine the first time, however my buttons were a little mixed up (volume down turned off radio, back button turned volume down) I honestly can't remember pin for pin how I adjusted mine. Also my factory wheel and g37 wheel harness' are a little different, my g37 wheel has 2 yellow wires and a pink wire, my factory wheel had neither of these wires. When I get time I'll see if I can unbutton everything and grab a pic, it's been rainy lately so may be a bit though.

Also the only buttons that don't work are the phone, and talk buttons.
Source=mode|up & down=seek|+ & -=volume/back button=power.
